The study of Nusantara Qur’anic manuscripts is important for understanding the tradition of mushaf transmission and the development of reading-mark systems in Aceh, as one of the early centers of Islamic scholarship in Indonesia. This research aims to analyze the presence and characteristics of waqf signs in a Qur’anic manuscript attributed to Shaykh Abdurrauf as-Singkili. The object of the study consists of photographic documentation of the manuscript, particularly Surah An-Nisa’ verses 76–78 and 85–89, which are then compared with the Qur’an published by the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. This study employs a qualitative method using a library research approach and content analysis of the manuscript’s visual data and supporting literature. The findings indicate that the examined manuscript does not contain any waqf signs, either stopping symbols or continuation markers, in contrast to modern Qur’anic editions that apply a standardized waqf system. This finding suggests the existence of variations in the Acehnese mushaf copying tradition of the seventeenth century, possibly influenced by the purpose of copying, the stage of manuscript completion, or the absence of an established waqf system at that time.
