Kerinci has a cultural heritage in the form of ancient manuscripts, one of which is an ancient Arabic script in Malay, particularly writings about the relationship between the Indrapura Kingdom and the Kerinci region. This refers to a letter from the Sultan of Indrapura to the local leaders in Kerinci, including the Arabic manuscript in Malay found in Dusun Sungai Liuk. This research employs a historical method involving several stages: heuristics, criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The findings indicate that Kerinci and Indrapura are closely connected in various aspects, including their neighboring territories, diplomatic and political relations, economic and trade interactions, as well as social, cultural, and customary influences on the Kerinci region.
