This study examines the phenomenon of misuse of dogmatic Qur'anic and Hadith verses in digital da'wah practices in Indonesia, particularly through social media platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter/X. Digital da'wah has expanded rapidly in the post-COVID-19 era, yet behind its growth lies a serious problem of hermeneutical distortion interpretive practices that disregard the historical, linguistic, and sociological contexts of sacred texts. This research employs a library research method with a critical hermeneutics and Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) approach. The study materials include academic literature from SINTA 2 and Scopus-indexed journals (2019–2025) and publicly available digital religious documents. The findings reveal that the misuse of dogmatic verses in digital da'wah manifests in three main patterns: (1) decontextualization the use of verses disconnected from their asbāb al-nuzūl and historical context; (2) instrumentalization the use of sacred texts as tools to legitimize ideological, political, and economic interests; and (3) extreme literalism that negates the maqāṣid al-sharī'ah dimension. These findings have significant implications for Islamic education, religious digital literacy policy, and the development of responsible digital da'wah ethics.
